In this follow-up to December's session on iPad apps, we'll work over
the LNV system to share more of our favorite apps in action, as well as
discuss implementation lessons from Enosburg Falls and educators'
personal experiences with iPads in the classroom.
Participants in-person at Montpelier HS will have hands-on access to iPads during the session.

Online Differentiated Instruction with Technology, Feb 6th, 3 graduate credits, Tuition $800
This online course will assist teachers to differentiate instruction using technology. The class will look at core principals of differentiating instruction as outlined by Tomlinson, and the implications that they have for classroom instruction, learning environments and the use of technology. Participants will focus on lesson design principles which support differentiation, enhance their areas of study, and incorporate the new VT Technology Grade Level Expectations and the National Education Technology Standards (NETS). Through an online model, participants will interact with a Learning Management System for class discussions, responses to articles and other activities. UVM Online Courses in Ed Tech Begin in January
Two online, graduate level courses are now available for registration through the University of Vermont for the Spring 2012 semester.
Teacher Leadership in Technology Integration
Instructor: Peter Drescher
Credits: 3
This online course targets teachers interested in leadership around
technology integration. This includes teacher leadership in technology
planning for school and district level, planning and implementing
integration strategies, and development and dissemination of
professional development in local and regional venues in Vermont.
Overall, the course seeks to explore the leadership aspects of these
roles and how classroom teachers can become active participants in their
school technology programs. Participants in this course will study the
means to foster leadership around the planning and development of solid
goals for their school technology needs.

Technology, Schooling, and Society

Credits: 3
This course explores the influences of technology on schooling and
society. Using sociological, historical, and philosophical frameworks,
course participants will explore implications of the proliferation and
use of information technologies. With a particular focus on changing
roles due to information access, this course examines issues of equity,
cultural diversity, student empowerment, community relationships, and
opportunities for transforming traditional schooling and other
organizational practices.
