Hardwicks Heroes

In teams, students will
choose a Hardwick veteran and the conflict in which he/she has participated to
investigate. They will complete research on their topic and interview either a
participant of this conflict or a Hardwick Historical Society member about a
town resident who has participated but is now deceased. They will form
impressions of the era in which each conflict occurred, learn how the conflict
affected the participants and the community through interviews or documents,
and identify characteristics that these veterans possess that can make them
heroes or heroines. With this knowledge student teams will create a multimedia
presentation of each citizen and the conflict in which he/she participated,
affects of this conflict on the citizen and our community, and how they as
ordinary citizens became heroic.
