Community Education on Drug/Alcohol Abuse Prevention

In August, Addison Northeast Supervisory Union will host a series of workshops about prevention of drug and alcohol abuse and promotion of positive behaviors in school, workplace and home.

The series is open to teachers, parents, employers, employees and the aim is to increase education about these important issues and help our communities continue healthy and positive development.

Book Corner

Now that spring is here (well, a day at a time!) a good book that families can use with children of all ages is "Nature Watch - Exploring Nature With Your Children" by Adrienne Katz, a paperback of 128 pages with over 200 beautiful illustrations.

This very user-friendly book can be found on the New Haven Community Library parent resource shelves (just inside the door of the library on the left side, middle shelf).

It has a very good index and many useful lists of plants for different places and conditions. Just the thing, now that spring planting is not too far away.
