Online Stories

            Stories that are read to students by using the technology of the computer can serve a definite purpose as one of the tools for creating a literacy environment.  These stories are not meant to replace the “human” element of an adult reading a story to a child.  However, as an extra literacy experience, the online story helps to develop fluency, an appreciation for literature, and an understanding of the elements of a story.  Some web sites that have electronic stories for children are:
